Chiang Mai Online English Magazine gets in Trouble over Pollution Campaign

Three_Kings_Monument_Chiang_MaiA local high student created an image of the old three Kings of Chiang Mai wearing pollution masks, City Life then posted it on their Facebook page to promote the “Right to Breathe” rally, a protest against the annual toxic pollution that invades the Northern City.

The Governor of Chiang Mai however, filed a Computer Crime Act charge against the picture saying it was “blasphemous”as the old Kings are “sacred and respected”. He further complained that the picture tainted the touristic image of Chiang Mai and may cause economic instability.

Prenuptial agreements in Thailand can help with protecting properties and finances for spouses avoiding future marital spouse’s prenuptial contracts. 

Those found guilty of violating the Computer Crime Act are punishable up to five years in prison. These charges are commonplace with “uploading false content” from critics of the monarch on social media.
