Doi Suthep Court Office and Residential Project Stuck in Between a National Forest and Protestors

madeira-418304_960_720The Office of Courts has received backlash from environmental advocates, authorities and locals in Chiang Mai for a residential and office building project being constructed on Doi Suthep, next to the protected national park.

The Office has passed on the issue to be determined by the Prime Minister, Prayut Chan-o-cha. The Executive Committee for the Office of Courts has said that they will not be able to satisfy the demands of the protestors as it would result in legal repercussions.

Ceasing or abolishing the structure will be charged as damage to the state, says the Secretary-General of the Office. He adds that the Office would be breaching the contract and would have to face a hefty compensation.
