The CEO of the Italian-Thai Development Company, Premchai Karnasuta, along with four others has been accused of killing a protected black Indochinese leopard. The news of the killing has stirred outrage and resulted in national campaigns for justice for the animal.
A Thai netizen has commented on the situation that they should just “drop every charge. End it. I’m embarrassed.” Premchai has had 5 of the 11 alleged charges against him dropped. These include animal cruelty and entering a wildlife sanctuary without permission.

Premchai still faces charges of hunting in a wildlife sanctuary and hunting a protected wildlife species. The latest reports on the case show evidence that Premchai and four others have eaten parts of the leopard.
