Hot! Canada Suspends Visas for Residents in Ebola Zones

Canadian FlagCanada has joined Australia in implementing visa restrictions against citizens from West African countries with outbreaks of the Ebola virus, reports the BBC News.

A government spokesman said Canada’s visa suspension policy is less restrictive than Australia’s Ebola zone travel bans. According to BBC News, Canadian officials will retain the authority to approve visas from the citizens of Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Guinea on a case-by-case basis and Canadian citizens travelling from Ebola zones will be permitted entry.
