Hot! ‘Fake’ White Chocolate Case Against Ghirardelli Settled for $5 Million

One customer noticed that Ghirardelli’s white chocolate chips didn’t contain white chocolate ingredients, leading to a class action lawsuit that the giant chocolatier settled for $5.25 million, reports Courthouse News Service.

Federal judge, Laurel Beeler, tentatively approved the class action settlement which was negotiated between the chocolate company and leading plaintiff Scott Miller. The fund will be used to reimburse class members who make claims as well as pay for the plaintiffs’ attorneys, according to Courthouse News.
