New German Laws to Protect Prostitutes
Sex workers in Germany will now be protected by a new law, which includes compulsory condoms and counseling for women prostitutes.
As DW reports, representatives of Angela Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and it’s coalition partner, the Social Democratic Party (SPD) reached the decision as a necessary step to go with the new sex work law, which legalized the trade.
It is thought the proposed law will be active from July 1st 2017.
Under the new law will sit guidelines for registration, health counseling, labor conditions and mandatory usage of condoms.
Prostitutes will also be banned from living in the rooms where they work.
