Hot! Security Alert in Bangkok after Courthouse Bombed

Security has been increased at major public and government buildings throughout Bangkok after two men attempted to bomb the Criminal Court with grenades Saturday, reports Thai PBS.

Yuttana Yenpinyo and Mahahin Khunthong, both 34, fired on soldiers and tried to escape before being arrested and interrogated by police, according to The Nation.

Chaninat and Leeds’ criminal lawyers are experts on Thailand criminal law and have multiple decades of experience assisting clients with criminal defense and prosecution in Thai courts. 

The hand grenade exploded on the car park leaving a hole in the floor, but no civilian or soldier injuries were reported.

Yenpinyo reportedly confessed to being a member of a red-shirt group that allegedly planned at least 100 bomb attacks, communicating mostly via the social networking app, Line.

In addition to at the Criminal Court, security has reportedly been boosted at major state offices, commercial areas, bus terminals, and train stations throughout Bangkok.
