Hua Hin Accomodation Guide

Hua Hin is a charming and relaxing beach town just a few hours south of Bangkok. Along with Cha-am, its quieter neighbor to the north, Hua Hin consists primarily of private resorts and condominiums along miles of beautiful coastline. Even the King and Queen of Thailand use their Palace north of Hua Hin town as their primary residence. The town of Hua Hua has many fine seafood restaurants set atop wooden piers and a lively night market. The beach is actually nicer in the center of town, in front of the Sofitel Central Railway Hotel, where the sand is soft and white, but to the north, towards Cha-am, there it is considerably quieter and more relaxing.

Easily accessible from Bangkok via car, bus, or train, Cha-am and Hua Hin are excellent locations for golfing, relaxing by the beach or pool, or pampering oneself with a series of spa treatments at one of the areas many day-spas and resorts.

Featured Resorts

Sabaya Jungle Resort
Located south of Cha-am town, Sabaya is a small, comfortable resort and spa geared towards a young and fashionable crowd. Stone paths wind around well tended gardens and bubbling pools and wooden ramps lead up to the bungalows. Inside these cute, two story wooden huts are fashionably Spartan rooms with comfortable mattresses lying on the carpeted floors. The tropical-beach/jungle resort style bathrooms are located beneath the rooms and feature scented bath oils and soaps which compliment the exotic, but rustic vibe. The open air sala common area has self service tea and coffee as well as DVD movies and TV. A small but modern treatment area is serviced by friendly and competent spa staff. The beach is just a short walk away, so this cozy resort is perfect for weekenders looking for something relaxing, comfortable, and quiet.

Sofitel Central Hua Hin Resort

This landmark hotel has been hosting VIP visitors to Hua Hin, since visitors have been passing through it. The Royal Hua Hin Railway Hotel (as it was once called) was constructed along the nicest stretch of sand on the beach as the primary accomodation for early travelers from Bangkok. This stunning colonial hotel may have changed its name, but it remains one of the top resorts in the area. Meander around the gardens and admire the well manicured topiaries or relax in the shade of one of their many outdoor decks. There are a variety of restaurants and cocktail lounges on site, but the resort is centrally located so it is a short walk to the shops, bars, and seafood piers of the main town.

More than a resort however, it is a complete experience; Your stay includes a physical examination, holistic health treatments, nutritious meals, and spa services, in addition to exceptional seaside lodging.
